Awarapan (transl. Vagrancy) is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir action film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana, the film follows a gangster who is ordered by his boss to keep an eye on his mistress, a Pakistani girl sold to him in the flesh trade. The film co-stars Shaad Randhawa, Rehan Khan, Ashish Vidyarthi, Salil Acharya, and Purab Kohli.
Awarapan was theatrically released in India and worldwide on 29 June 2007. The film was a commercial failure but eventually came to be regarded as one of Hashmi's best works.The film is an uncredited remake of the South Korean film A Bittersweet Life.
